Travel Team Tryout Policy

1.      All players are encouraged to pre-register.

2.      Players may only tryout for one bracket age.

3.      Tryout Chairperson must record the name, address phone#, birth date and town of every player who attends a tryout and must submit this list to the Board (President) no later than the next regular Board Meeting after tryouts.

4.      Tryouts must be held on the dates and times selected by the Board of Directors. It is the responsibility of the coaches to attend each tryout or designate a qualified replacement to hold the tryout.

5.      Coaches at their discretion may hold additional tryouts if necessary.

6.      No player can be selected for a team unless that player attends at least one tryout.

7.      Coaches must adhere to the Out of Town Player rules when selecting a team.

8.      The Board shall appoint coordinators (typically the current head coach) and independent evaluators to participate in the evaluation process.

9.      The tryouts will be run in accordance with the Board approved procedure. Coordinators must retain written records of each evaluation and submit the final evaluation spreadsheets to the Tryout Chairperson.

10. Coordinators and independent evaluators must come to a consensus on the first 10 players chosen (Seven players for small-sided teams). The coordinator and/or coach may select the remaining players to fill out the roster The Tryout Chairperson may request an explanation for specific choices.

11. A list of all players selected for the team must be submitted to the Tryout Chairperson as soon as possible after the last tryout but no later than the next regular Board meeting. Player  notification will be posted on the website  within one week of the last tryout however not before  the regular season is  completed. Players must accept or decline an offered position according to notification schedule posted on the website.

12.  Any disputes on interpretation of these rules will be settled by the Tryout Committee that is appointed by the board.
