"Premier" Team Policy

 

 

1.    Premier Team status will be awarded based on Board approved criteria on a case by case basis by a majority vote of the Sparta Soccer Club Board each year. Criteria include:

 a) tournament experience, b) State Cup experience, c) flighting, and d) record.

 

 

2.   Only one Premier Team (one for boys, one for girls) in each age group for Division 1 through Division 4 (U12 only) will be permitted (i.e., Div. 3B-U14, Div. 3G-U13).

 

3.   For Division 3 and above, a majority (51%) of the team must be Sparta residents. For Division 4, a majority of 75% of the players must be Sparta residents. *No playing time rules will be in force. 

 

 

4.   Selection to be made and players notified prior to regular travel team tryouts

 

 

5.   Teams must play in the most competitive flight for their age group in a Board approved Youth Soccer League.

 

 

6.   A player’s agent (non-coach) will be appointed to mediate any dispute that a player or parent has with a Premier Team.

 

 

7.   The team must adhere to the Laws of the youth soccer league in which they participate.

 

 

8.   All other Rules of the Sparta Soccer Club shall apply.
