SPARTA SOCCER CLUB TOWN PROGRAM

TOWN LEAGUE PHILOSOPHY: It is the intention of the Sparta Soccer Club to provide the children of Sparta the opportunity to not only learn the game of soccer, but to learn the value of good sportsmanship and healthy competition. We encourage each player to strive to play their best, but also want them to learn that their success is not measured solely by wins and losses.

SHIN GUARDS ARE MANDATORY IN ALL DIVISIONS AT PRACTICES AND GAMES ! Cleats are recommended but not required. All players are encouraged to bring their own ball to practice.

Coach Requirements: All coaches must be National Youth Sports Coach Association (NYSCA) certified or hold an "F" license or better. NYSCA clinics are held by Sparta Recreation once a year. Coaches must also complete a state "Kid Safe" form.

Note: Over the years we have determined that offering all-girl divisions is more successful than the co-ed divisions for our female players. However, players are are welcome to play in the boys or girls division if that is their choice. We have not been able to provide this in every division yet although that is our goal. For this reason the age mix in the girls and boys divisions may vary from season to season.
